So I know that I've been really bad about updating my blog. I attribute this mostly to the fact that the internet in our apartment does not work most of the time. The people here don't put much value on fast internet.
I am currently sitting at the BCN airport waiting for my flight to Amsterdam. This will be the first excursion my roomates and I are going on. We're also meeting some of Hannah and Lindsay's friends there. The 7 of us will be staying in one hotel room. I'm not sure how this is going to work out.
Tuesday was lindsay's birthday, so we surprised her with bottle service at ottozutz. This was one of the most fun nights we've had yet that continued on until the early hours of the morning.
Lately we've been doing a lot of exploring. Andrew, joe, adam and I walked to park guell last week and saw many more of gaudi's creations. I will post pictures to facebook soon (once my internet is back). Last night I was standing out on the balcony that we hang our clothes on and I got in to a spanglish conversation with our neighbor across the way. He saw that lindsay and hannah were in the kitchen and invited the 3 of us over to see his apartment. We went and met his 4 roomates. We were initially surprised when each of his roomates tried to kiss us on the cheek (both sides) but we got used to it. After seeing his place we invited him to ours. He brought a bottle of cava and we hung around our living room chatting about the hot spots to go to in Barcelona, the differences between america and spain and how loud the parties are that we tend to have at our place M,W,F and Sat. It was so cool to hang out with people that were not native to America for a change. Their english was very broken, but it was much better than any spanish that we could speak so we mostly stuck to english.
Sooooooo like I said I'm heading to Amsterdam, ill update about that when I get back. I'm sure it will be a trip to remember....sort of.

hola!

So I finally made it! After 36 hours of traveling, a hotel in london and many manyyyyy delays I'm finally in Barcelona. I've been here for a few days and already I know that I never want to leave. This place is like nothing I have ever experienced in my entire life.
On Friday my roomates and I moved in to our new apartment. It is wonderful! The people at CEA prepared us for a semester living in a small dungeon with cockroaches, but we were pleasantly surprised to find out place decked out in Ikea and very spacious.
My favorite day thus far was saturday. Andrew, adam, joe and I went and got lost in the city. We visited sagrada familia and then ventured over to the Gaudi house. I was blown away by the spectacular architecture and what a genius Gaudi really was. That day we must have walked for at least 4 miles. After the house we went to Corte Ingles (basically a ten stiry macys) to get andrew some linnens. I have never seen such a crowded department store in my life. We've decided this is officially our least favorite place in the city. Andrew managed to get his shoelace stuck on the escalator and was pulled into the splits by the moving stairs. It was a sight to see. We managed to free him and found a small restaurant that had the best payella (sp?) in the area. Here we watched fc barcelona kill sevilla on a small tv. When this was over it was about 11pm. Time to get ready for the night out! (I missed my siesta though) we partied all night most of the clubs here don't close until about 6am. (Just my style). I have so much more to tell but I am laying in bed and the tylenol pm is kicking in. I will try to write again tomorrow with more detail and more interesting, detailed stories.
